Coming Soon:
Beloved: Ohio Celebrates Toni Morrison, is a yearlong, statewide tribute to the life, literature, and legacy of Toni Morrison — a Lorain native, Pulitzer Prize winner, and the first Black woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. The project is designed and led by Literary Cleveland in partnership with Ohio Humanities, with collaboration from the Ohioana Literary Association and the Toni Morrison Society. There will be many events around the state to celebrate Ms. Morrison’s legacy.
Beloved: A Communal Experience of Toni Morrison’s Award-winning Novel, is a series of discussions about this novel. More information will be available February 18, 2026, the kickoff date for the year-long state celebration. The Beloved book discussion will begin in March. This gathering is an opportunity to experience the book in community whether you are new to the novel Beloved or want to revisit it with other readers; first-time readers should consider joining us. There has been a lot of interest and spaces are filling up.
If you would like to receive more information, please click here and you will receive an update in February.
Other gatherings:
Writing conferences, workshops, and author readings are a great source of learning and inspiration. These gatherings provide me with insights about craft, ideas for new stories, and advice on how to handle the challenges of making writing my life’s work. They offer opportunities for creative collaboration and artistic alliances—these are places where we can come together.
